Health Educators
Hamilton County Public Health is accepting applications for two Health Educator positions in the Department of Community Health Services. Requirements include: BS in health education or related field, one (1) year experience which indicates a thorough knowledge of health education principles. Must posses a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency. These are exempt position. Only non-tobacco users need apply. EOE.
- Support grant development and prepare project related budgets.
- Plan, coordinate and implement effective health promotion and education strategies, programs, and training.
- Evaluate project outcomes.
- Report health promotion and education activities and outcomes to all key stakeholders as defined.
- Provide support for public health emergencies.
Assistant Health Commissioner - Environmental Health Services
Hamilton County Public Health is accepting applications for an Assistant Health Commissioner- Environmental Health Services. Requirements include: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Health Policy or Business Administration with emphasis in environmental science or other related fields; plus five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in public health administration, including three (3) years of administrative or supervisory responsibility. Must have valid driver’s license issued in the state of residency and must be willing to serve in the unclassified civil services.
- Directing day-to-day activities and operations of the Department of Environmental Health Services including supervision of staff.
- Managing the development and implementation of the Department of Environmental Health Services’ goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each assigned program area.
- Developing budgets and preparing reports including financial and program activity progress reports and year end reports.
- Developing and implementing quality improvement plans to increase process efficiencies.
- Assisting the Health Commissioner and the Board of Health in the enforcement of all laws and regulations relevant to the Department of Environmental Health Services and under the jurisdiction of the Hamilton County Board of Health.
Health Promotion Project Coordinator
Hamilton County Public Health is accepting applications for a Health Promotion Project Coordinator in the Department of Community Health Services. Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree plus two years of management experience with personnel, project and fiscal management knowledge. Master’s Degree preferred. Must posses a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency. This is an exempt position. Only non-tobacco users need apply. EOE.
- Support grant development and prepare project related budgets.
- Provide direction, support and mentoring to personnel assigned to project.
- Develop and implement plans to address revisions to policies or business practices identified through project initiatives and required to sustain desired outcomes.
- Provide status reports and updates to key stakeholders.
- Determine budget needs, develop funding strategies (i.e. grant writing), and adhere to fiscal policies and procedures.
- Strict adherence to project deadlines required.
- Provide support for public health emergencies.

Full Time Epidemiologist
- Participating in the design, management, and evaluation of surveillance systems used to monitor and characterize infectious disease, injury, mortality, and other adverse health outcomes in the community.
- Participating in the local coordination of activities related to disease surveillance and outbreak investigations.
- Collecting, processing, and analyzing public health data using tools such SAS, SPSS and ArcGIS; assisting with the management of statistical databases.
- Coordinating and conducting epidemiologic research/ community health assessments.
- Producing and presenting surveillance reports and manuscripts.
- Assisting with the evaluation of public health practices associated with disease prevention.
- Developing methods to monitor and improve data quality.
- Maintaining collaborative partnerships with local public health stakeholders.
